Central to all actions in Kairos is Jesus' command to Christians to "Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. If you have love for one another, then everyone will know that you are my disciples." (John 13:34-35). This command is explicit in the Kairos motto, "Listen, listen, love, love".
Kairos carries out that command in one particular environment, prison, and to share with inmates, juvenile offenders and their families the unconditional love of God in Christ, as presented in the Gospels.
The passage in Matthew 25:36 which says "I was in prison and you came to visit me" sums up the ethos of the Kairos volunteers. For God said that "whenever you did this for the least important of these brothers of mine, you did it for me."
